Staff Review:
"Dying is Inevitable. Living is Not"

A few days ago, I came across a TEDxYouth video by Wayne Earl, who shared the wisdom of his daughter, Esther Earl, who lost her battle with cancer just before her 16th birthday. I was touched by her generosity and courageous positive spirit, and how she showed the world what it meant to live life. Soon after that, I watched author John Green's tribute to Esther...and I was moved to tears. I understand now why John Green was inspired to write his bestselling novel, The Fault in Our Stars. Esther was special and she is truly awesome. I like to believe that this memoir, which is co-written by her parents, is her legacy in print. We get to read her thoughts, her dreams, understand her struggles, but ultimately, we get to be inspired and treasure her memory.
