Al-Qur’an: The Sacred Art of Revelation displays 74 outstanding Mushafs from the collection of the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia. They range in time from the 8th up to the 20th century covering the major production centres within the various cities of the Islamic civilisations. Included in this catalogue are rare and ourstanding manuscripts as those produced by master calligraphers of the time, Yaqut al-Musta‘simi, Hafiz Osman and Ahmad al-Nayrizi. The beauty of these Mushafs lies mainly on its content and meaning, embellished by their designs and styles of writing.
