Altar of Eden

On her rounds, New Orleans veterinarian Lorna Polk comes across a boatful of exotic animals that has run aground on an island off the coast. As beautiful--and highly intelligent--as these animals are, there is definitely something wrong with them. Lorna is sure that they are the result of bizarre genetic manipulations experiments. Determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, she reluctantly asks border agent Jack Menard for help, and soon the two are up to their necks in a frightening plot that, if they can't stop it first, could threaten the safety of the entire world.
