Analyzes Spanish Catholic priests' official" ecclesiastical texts and Indigenous authors' rendering of those texts from the sixteenth to the early nineteenth century in order to trace European and Indigenous influences, both stylistic and substantive, on beliefs in New Spain about the Second Coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the Final Judgment.
