Backroads of Ontario

Backroads of Ontario gives you the information you need to explore Ontario far from the congested highways, taking you on an eye-opening adventure through the province's scenic countryside and historical landscapes. There are more than 30 routes in all, each illustrated with photographs and accompanied by an easy-to-follow map. Trips range in length from afternoon outings to weekend excursions, and all lead to intriguing places within a short driving distance of Ontario's major cities. Think picturesque villages, century-old mills, dramatic scenery, architectural curiosities and even a ghost town or two -- some of them underwater. Entries from previous editions are revised. New excursions include the historic upper Ottawa River, from Arnprior to Pembroke, and the Thousand Islands Parkway, while other new routes wind through the little-known rugged highlands of Parry Sound and follow along the breathtaking scenery of the St. Clair River--
