The Malayan Elephant is the largest of the Big Five and conservation challenges require massive funds and great efforts in its management. Unfortunately, its great appetite for oil palm led to massive damage of the crop. It would be extremely rare to find any government that would tolerate such massive losses in defence of the elephant. It may come as a great surprise that no order was issued to completely wipe out the elephant.

This book consists of five titles namely, The Malayan Tiger, The Malayan Elephant, The Malayan Tapir, The Seladang, and The Lesser Two-Horned Rhinoceros. It is produced on the basis of the importance of creating awareness among the general public of the need to preserve and conserve the flora and fauna of Malaysia so as not to become extinct because of the development process.
