Drawing on more than a decade of new work, Kim and Mauborgne show you how to move beyond competing, inspire your people's confidence, and seize new growth, guiding you step-by-step through how to take your organization from a red ocean crowded with competition to a blue ocean of uncontested market space. By combining the insights of human psychology with practical market-creating tools and real-world guidance, Kim and Mauborgne deliver the definitive guide to shift yourself, your team, or your organization to new heights of confidence, market creation, and growth. They show why nondisruptive creation is as important as disruption in seizing new growth.
This book was really interesting to read and it was also easy to follow the concepts that were put forth. The use of examples from all over the world of organisations and businesses making blue ocean shifts made reading it very enjoyable. The steps to creating a blue ocean are clearly laid out in this book, complemented by tools and frameworks to develop and execute a blue ocean idea. After reading Blue Ocean Strategy, and now Blue Ocean Shift, I believe that I have the knowledge to pursue the creation of my own blue ocean, be it in the business world or elsewhere.
This book gives detailed version of the 5 steps to making a blue ocean shift and provides guidance on how to implement each step and use the tools including what works and what doesn't, so you can achieve success. I'd recommend reading this book, definitely worth a read.
