Malaysia Building Society Berhad (MBSB) has been at the forefront of the nation's financial services industry and economic development for more than 60 years. Originally established as the Federal and Colonial Building Society in Singapore in 1950, it was one of the first financial institutions in the region to extend housing loans to those earning low to middle incomes. as the Society's operations expanded into Malaya and then Malaysia, it was instrumental in the development of many residential areas, including Petaling Jaya.

This book tells the story of MBSB's growth, evolution and service to the nation over more than six decades. During that time, MBSB has increased its initial complement of a handful of staff to more than 1,000 employees, it has grown its branch network from a single office to 35 branches and 9 representative offices, and it has expanded its product range from absic housing loans to a wide range of retail, corporate busioness and wholesale banking financial products. It has achieved this even in the face of setbacks and external events such as the Asian financial crisis of 1997-1998.

Since 2009 in particular, the "Taking MBXB to the Next Level" initiative introduced by CEO Fato' Ahmad Zaini bin Othman has transformed MBSB's business model and business culture. In 2011, MBSB achieved its best ever financial resutls and looks to the future with confidence of its ability to deliver to customers and shareholders alike.
