This is by far Thanhha Lai's best book! Every line has the poetry of Inside Out and Back Again. Plus in this novel you get funny dialogue, page-turning plots and fall in love with a sassy refugee and a cowboy wannabe.

She has experienced a great deal of trauma, which is slowly revealed to the reader. . Emotion is heavily carried through the book, and this is a truly beautiful (and heavy) read for that reason.

This book is historical fiction. its such a sad and sweet storyline. Romantic

The writing is incredible. What a wonderful historical immigrant story. Love the title and the cover.
