Comparative Politics and Government of the Baltic States

Tracing the development of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania over the last quarter century, this text considers the political history and the impact of the Soviet era on the modern states and compares institutional choices made since 1991. It analyses parties and electoral systems, as well as the development of civil society, the impact of corruption, and the enduring ethnic issues caused by un-integrated large Russophone minorities in Estonia and Latvia.
