When a mother allows her thirty-something daughter to move into her apartment, she wants for her what many mothers might say they want for their child: a steady income, and, even better, a good husband with a good job with whom to start a family.

But when Green turns up with her girlfriend, Lane, in tow, her mother is unprepared and unwilling to welcome Lane into her home. In fact, she can barely bring herself to be civil. About the author

Kim Hye-jin is an award-winning author from Daegu, South Korea. She made her debut in 2012 when her short story 'Chicken Run’ won the Dong-A Ilbo New Year Literary Award. She has since then won the JoongAng Literature Award in 2013 for Joongang Station, the Shin Dong-yup Prize for Literature in 2018 for Concerning My Daughter, and the Daesun Literary Award in 2020 for Worker No.9.
