A heartbreaking memoir from a girl who escaped county line trafficking only to become prey to other abusers...

Emily has always felt like an outsider, so when a family friend takes her under his wing she is delighted. But soon it becomes clear that his motives are not all they seem.

At the age of 11, Emily is groomed into being a 'county lines' drug trafficker. It is the beginning of a vicious cycle that sees her become prey to one abuser after another, involving a huge child-sex-trafficking gang.

The scale of the abuse - at the hands of hundreds of men - is sickening, and at times it feels like there will never be an escape. But then, in the darkest of moments, a ray of light shines ...

This is the moving true story of how one girl overcame her traumatic past and learned to love for the very first time.

Enslaved: My True Story of Survival

This is an amazing at times harrowing read and a must for anyone coming into contact with young people including parents. Emily shares her story of her abuse and exploitation at the hands of many adults who treated her as little more than a commodity. You will learn so much from this read, Emily’s heartbreaking story shows how Child Sexual and Criminal Exploitation can happen to anyone’s child. An amazing lady who has come out the other side but not without the scares left by her horrific abuse, it’s a story of resilience, survival, of a child who experienced things no child should. As a safeguarding lead in my professional capacity I encourage any student social workers to have this book as part of their reading lists and qualified social workers to read as part of professional learning development. Many thanks to Emily for having the courage to share her story, Sonya Jones
