Eddie calls the same house his home. Eddie is almost a teenager now. He must no longer believe in the girl he sometimes sees from the corner of his eye. He needs her to disappear. But when his older brother senses her, too, they are faced with a question: how do they get rid of someone they aren't sure even exists?
And, if they cast her out, what other threats might they invite in?
Girl in the Walls
This novel tells the story of an orphan who hides within the walls of her former family home. How long can she maintain her silence and invisibility before the new owners sense her? Or discover her? I have always enjoyed unusual characters and unexpected plot lines and this book did not disappoint. It made me think. And consider. And ponder. And wonder about things like what it means to find and lose, to see and dream, to hide and be known. What is a family and how does love and belonging bind us to each other and the places we inhabit - together and apart? What truths and experiences are hidden just beyond the reach and scope of our senses? What reality do we not dare to acknowledge because our minds cannot fathom it? If you enjoy suspenseful coming-of-age books, with a hint of mystery, you might enjoy this one. I certainly did!
This is a story about how a girl survived on her old house without being noticed by the new owner. Really interesting story. Worth to read.
This book is about survival and grief but the tension the author meticulously built scare the living daylights out of you!
The plot line is so clever, bizarre, mind spinning! It also gives you Bong Joon Ho’s Academy Award winner screenplay “Parasite”! Truly great
