The findings of the Good to Great study will surprise many readers and shed light on virtually every area of management strategy and practice. The findings include:
- Level 5 Leaders: The research team was shocked to discover the type of leadership required to achieve greatness.
- The Hedgehog Concept (Simplicity within the Three Circles): To go from good to great requires transcending the curse of competence.
- A Culture of Discipline: When you combine a culture of discipline with an ethic of entrepreneurship, you get the magical alchemy of great results. Technology
- Accelerators: Good-to-great companies think differently about the role of technology.
- The Flywheel and the Doom Loop: Those who launch radical change programs and wrenching restructurings will almost certainly fail to make the leap.
Quote from this book,
The best people don't need to be managed, don't need discipline, and don't need motivation. Only guided, taught, and lead, but not tightly managed. First who, then what. The people are not your most important asset. The right people are your most important asset.
Highly recommend.

The advice and research in this book applies to very large corporations, with very specific investment returns over a period of time. Very little advice could be applied to small businesses (maybe the Hedgehog concept). Sure their research is impressive, but even the author admits most of this could not be consciously recreated.
The book simply is talking about how to make a great company. Not only good but great company. Author is talking about the factors and the things the great companies do to become great
This is awesome book and very interesting to be a great leader. Should have this book.
