Hear #metoo in India examines the role media platforms play in anti-rape and sexual harassment feminist activism in India. Including 75 interviews with rural and subaltern feminist activists and journalists working in urban and rural regions of India, the book proposes a nuanced framework of agenda building on rape and establishes a theoretical framework to examine media coverage of issues in the digitally emerging countries of the Global South. In 2017, TIME announced The Silence Breakers, individuals who set off an international movement against sexual harassment, as its Person of the Year, amplifying the #Metoo movement.
