This book is about food, obviously, but it goes way beyond that. Through food, Hungry Hearts explores themes of family, friendship, love in all its forms, growing up, grief, anxiety, sexuality, learning how to move on from mistakes, and more. It’s incredible how much the authors packed into such short stories, and I would happily read a full-length novel of each of them.
I highly recommend reading Hungry Hearts. It will leave you hungry and wishing that Hungry Hearts Row were real, but it will also fill you with warmth.
This was a great short story collection. With the killer author line-up, I was expecting a lot and Hungry Hearts didn't disappoint. I don't think I've read an anthology where all the stories connected and were in the same world before but it was really enjoyable. The stories themselves covered a variety of genres and touched on a variety of themes and issues, and of course, all featured mouth-watering food. There's a story for everyone in here.

That was fun and full of surprises! This ranged from rom-com to borderline horror, and I definitely did not expect that, but there were stories on each end of that spectrum that were faves.
