Income Tax 1967 (Act 53)

Law stated is as at 10 June 2010

In accordance to section 3 of the Income Tax Act 1967 (Act 53), a tax known as 'income tax' shall be charged for each year of assessment upon the income of any person accruing in or derived from Malaysia or received in Malaysia  from outside Malaysia.

The classes of income tax is chargeable, shall be in respect of the following:

• Gains of profits from a business
• Gains or profits from an employment
• Dividends, interests or discounts
• Rents, royalties or premiums, and
• Pensions, annuities or other periodical payments
