Leading Equity

Often confused and misunderstood with equality, equity is a way to ensure all students get access to what they need. As student demographics continue to change in our classrooms, we can support students from diverse cultural backgrounds with ensuring that ALL students receive the resources they need to be successful. Equity is achieved through social-emotional support, equity in digital spaces, school culture, closing achievement gaps, and more With the current social culture and push for racial justicethroughout the country, nothing is more relevant at this moment in time than a book which is directly connected to racial equality. This book will provide educators and educational leaders with the skills and resources that will allow them to become educational equity advocates. While the other titles focus on equity in education, this book not only dives deeply into the issues related to that topic, but also provides readers with actionable steps to address said issues. By presenting readers with actionable steps rather than abstract ideas, this book will provide educational leaders with the tools necessary to hit the ground running as equity advocates instead of continuing current practices of being inundated with information on how education is not equitable with little to no ideas of how to improve current systems of education.--
