Staff Review
There are 573 Looking for Alaska quotes on Goodreads. That's usually a good sign. Yet, it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone loves it. Honestly, I probably would have love it - a lot - had it been written when I was a teen. But since that time has come and gone, I can't help feeling pessimistic about how I feel about it. It's a well written coming of age story. Good characterization. It's got humor and it's full of wit. The plot isn't new and the story, a bit cliche. I only started to like the story once I got to the 'After' of the book. It is as if things started to only make sense once you get to that part. The strangest feeling I had was once I reached the end of the book. The story lingered in my mind far longer than I had expected. Overall, I think, if you can get over the bumps at the beginning, you might find that...it IS worthy of your time.
