Women in Afghanistan have few resources once they are marked as promiscuous, licentious, or shameless, which can happen for reasons that have little to do with sex or sexuality. Based on 24-months of fieldwork at a women's shelter in Kabul, Sonia Ahsan provides readers with a social and textual ethnography of the category of sexual promiscuity in Afghanistan.
