Tan Sri Salleh holds a Bachelor Degree in forestry from the University of Adelaide and Diploma in Forestry from the Australian Forestry School in Canberra in 1964 and later pursued studies at Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Michigan in the United States in 1974 and 1977 respectively.
