Visceral, speculative body horror from the author of Boy Parts and Penance – the first collection from a major voice in British fiction
A teenager longs for perfect skin. A scientist tends to fragile alien flora. A young man takes the night into his own hands. Each of these characters has a desperate desire. Can any of them be sated?
Unsettling, revelatory, and laced with her signature dark humour, Eliza Clark's debut short story collection plumbs the depths of that most basic human feeling: hunger.

Reviews
"A delectable smörgåsbord of snack-sized weird, She's Always Hungry is a meal for the most avant garde queens. I loved every story, licked the plate clean and left no crumbs." —Alice Slater
"Eliza Clark knows that inside every young woman there are two monsters; Both are depraved. Scary and satirical, Clark's debut collection is unsettling, repulsive and darkly hilarious. Clark is a razor sharp, singular voice in modern horror." —Juno Dawson
"She's Always Hungry is a howlingly good collection by an author at the very height of her powers. By turns funny, repulsive and tender, it is a collection that begs you to pick a favourite story and yet confounds you at every turn with its range and dexterity. Clark is a writer whose mastery of voice and genre is impossible not to envy." —Julia Armfield
"Visceral and transgressive, eerie and playful, sometimes depraved and often laugh-out-loud funny, Clark's stories exert a gleeful, sinister power. But what's most thrilling is the sheer range of narrative skill on display in this collection; in terms of voice, genre, form and content, this is a writer capable of bringing you anywhere – anywhere – she wants." —Colin Walsh
