Singapore's Black & White Houses Notebook

The black and white houses of Singapore, harking back to colonial times, are an architectural institution. Built when the population was smaller, making land more available, the houses show the way that the wealthy used to live. Adapted from traditional British architecture to suit the tropical climate of the country, the black and whites are truly a Singaporean hybrid.
