Domestic violence, particularly marital rape, is an abominable
class of crimes that’s under the radar in Malaysian public
discourse. Many women have become victims, suffering in silence
and without hope to live a fulfilling and rewarding life. They
remain scared and traumatized for the rest of their days. Further,
there is no political will to address this issue squarely in the eye
and to legislate to criminalise marital rape.
Neelambika is a victim of marital rape. Even after her divorce, she
suffered alone, haunted by the devastation to her well-being.
Gradually, she rebuilt her life and dealt with the emotions that
plagued her. She has now summoned the courage to speak up, and
share her story publicly. Today, she considers herself as a survivor,
and no longer a victim. Neelambika actively advocates for public
education on the ills of marital rape, and for this scourge to be
eliminated as a societal evil. She believes in the right of a wife to be
treated as an equal partner in marriage, both emotionally and
physically. Neelambika is a volunteer with Women’s Aid
Organisation.
Neelambika had spent 20 years in the corporate world, initially with
an international bank and then with a telecommunications service
provider. As her contribution to raise educational attainment, she
currently teaches English to school children. Neelambika holds a
Masters of Business Administration earned from Edith Cowan
University, Australia.

Tiong Yong Keu The book had really taught me not to overthinking everything when there is not needed. Sometimes, you just need to let it be, or let go. It is a very inspirational book .
