Singapore’s small Armenian community was a microcosm of the larger World with scandals and bankruptcies scattered among the success stories. Death cut some talented lives short, others long outlived their spouses; some died millionaires, others paupers. This brief history looks at the dynamics of the Armenian community and the major Armenian commercial enterprises. It is based on the author’s earlier book: Respected Citizens: The History of Armenians in Singapore and Malaysia.
