The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (A Hunger Games Novel)
This is a prequel about President Snow, it gives a little background about how and why Snow's characteristics have became who is he now in the Hunger Games.
I love the Hunger Games trilogy for how Suzanne Collins write the stories. Her choices of words and phrases and way of expressing give a vivid picture of the story for the readers, AND The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is another level of that sophistication of hers!
Nonetheless, a little disappointment, Collins haven't bridge certain gaps, like I was expecting, e.g. how Snow and Tigris' relationship has soured for they are closed cousins who cared for each other (in The Ballad) but Tigris ends up being abandoned (in the Mockingjay).
Overall, it's a good read for the Hunger Games fans and I really love Collins!
This is actually brilliant. Like genius. Critical, and scathing and thought provoking.
Sprinkled with moments where your jaw just quietly drops in shock and pain but you can't do anything except keep on reading.
This book is hypnotic. It had an unputdownable quality I'm still unable to quite put my finger on.
Hats off, this is how you prequel.
