This is an engrossing tale told by a great storyteller. Really recommended.
The Wolves of Calla blew me away! It is the story of a town that has nearly half of their children kidnapped every generation or so, and then returned 'roont' , which is to say their minds are gone and they are physically altered also. Roland and his ka'tet intend to stopped this, and much of the book is about planning, and their interactions with the town people. But my favorite part is watching the way each character grows during the course of the book. We are allowed to see deeper into their thoughts and gain a better understanding of what motivates them.
