The Fishermen's Quarrel: A Thai Folk Tale

In  a village, Thai fishermen Thanit and Wichai lived like brothers, sharing their catch, food and profits. A young boy, Silak, helped them clean their catch. Then, bad times came, bringing empty nets. One day, when a fish was finally caught, the two fishermen fought over who should get the best parts of it.

Unable to resolve the quarrel, the village headman, Kunam, asked Silak's old and wise grandmother for help. Which of the two fishermen will she favour?
