Myla has returned with Orien to Deepwater to face her past, a past that isn't thrilled to see her. Learning she's in trouble from a frantic note penned by Orien, Fings and Seth head off on a rescue mission. Myla doesn't need rescuing, thanks, but now that they're in Deepwater, Seth starts to dig into some warlock secrets probably best left alone and Fings starts to look for his missing brother. The trio converge towards a conspiracy against the Empire, and Deepwater is attacked by an incomprehensible enemy.
