MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR
Winning will make you famous.
Losing means certain death.
In a dark vision of the near future, twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live TV show called the Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed.
When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister's place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
Really love this book. I've read it again so many times because it's so good!
The Hunger Games is tough reading. But it's complex and powerful, and completely involving. The story follows Katniss a District's 12 representative fight to survive in a game called The Hunger Games. Well written dystopian world building with YA influenced.
There's a reason why The Hunger Games was so powerful and influential that it inspired a revolutionary spirit in readers everywhere. The first book is harrowing and grotesque, yet seems too close to reality at times. The cast of characters are colorful and diverse but no one captures my attention like Katniss herself. A recommended read, there's a reason this book is a classic.
