The pigeon's back! When the pigeon discovers a delicious hot dog, he can hardly wait to shove the entire thing in his beak. But then a hungry, clever little duckling enters the scene and wants a bite. Will he manage to outsmart the pigeon, and get his share of the hot dog? Oh, yes.

The Pigeon can be quite a spoilt bird sometimes. Upon finding a hotdog, he instantly opens his beak with a big "Aaaaaaahhh..." only to be interupted by an inquisitive Duckling. Duckling has never tasted a hotdog causing Pigeon to flap around in frustration, claiming that the hotdog is "MINE! MINE! MINE!"

Mo Willems' crayon/charcoal-outlined illustrations are reminiscent of child-like drawings and paired with his deadpan humour, this is certainly a brilliant way to teach children the importance of sharing. What's also unique about this book is that the reader is actually encouraged to be involved in the storyline. This is achieved through the Pigeon constantly looking at the reader, with emotion depicted in his narrowed eyes or even his wide-open eyes that match the words in his speech bubble and open beak, or when his comments are directed at the reader. With such an innovative book, it is no wonder that the Pigeon has quite a following!
