Which makes him wonder - what really happened to Charlie the day of the murder?
And can anyone stop it happening again?

What an interesting and creepy thriller! Hands down one of the creepiest books I have read. Alex North has been moved to “ I will read anything by this author” list.
Twenty five years ago Paul Adams left his hometown after one of his friends was brutally murdered by two boys he knew from school ..One of the boys served his time and returned home ...the other Charlie Crabtree vanished without trace . Paul never went back until the day he hears his mother has had a bad fall and is now in the care of a hospice ..Upon his return he finds that though nothing has changed ...nothing is as he left ..His mother now frail claims there is something in the house ..and Paul begins to realise that the past he left behind has come hurtling forward as another boy is found murdered ..The Shadow Friend will both terrifying you and at times make you want to cry ..A determined Detective wants to close this case , but there are shadows so dark ..so untouchable at work here ..A story of broken innocence , how evil can spread like the wings of a bird ..and a soul that is caught in the crossfire ...A Stunning read ..
This book was so atmospheric and creepy. It was compelling and addicting to read. Alex North is a damn good writer and storyteller. It’s safe to say I’ll pick up anything he writes.
Really good book on how a troubled and damaged child can take others into their fantasy world and wreck people's lives. It is horrifying and troubling in many ways, but it is captivating story. It was mystery and kept me guessing until the end.
