2nd Book of LOTR

I always enjoy reading this as part two of "the Lord of the Rings". To approach it any other way is to rob it of the proper context, and therefore its true potential to entertain and transport the reader to another world. If approached properly, this author's works should be enjoyable for many.

The Two Towers

The two towers has long been one of my favorite works of fiction or fantasy.

Continuing the journeys of the now broken fellowship, The Two Towers follows Aragon, Legolas, and Gimli in pursuit of Merry and Pippin through Rohan, as well as Sam and Frodos trek through Emyn Muil and the Dead Marshes toward Mordor, aided by Gollum.

Featuring one of the strongest scenes int he series as Sam stands up to Shelob, as well as a beautifull described siege at Helm's Deep, The Two Towers is sure to please any fan of Tolkien's other works.

There is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's high fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. It is preceded by The Fellowship of the Ring and followed by The Return of the King.

Awakening from a dream of Gandalf the Grey battling the Balrog, Frodo Baggins and his friend Samwise Gamgee find themselves lost in the Emyn Muil near Mordor and soon become aware that they are being stalked by Gollum, the former owner of the One Ring. After capturing him, a sympathetic Frodo decides to use Gollum as a guide to Mordor, despite Sam's objections.
