Yasu Tanaka was born in Tokyo, Japan and went to the US to study filmmaking when he was 20 years old. Later he started working as a script writer and a script analyst. He has been teaching storytelling classes in Japan and Malaysia since the mid 2000s. Yasu writes, directs and edits his own project, such as magiK (feature film 2023), "NOTA" (feature film 2015) and LARI, SAYANG, LAR" (a TV series) under his production 42nd Pictures Sdn. Bhd. (www.42ndpictures.com). Yasu resides in 3 different countries; Japan, the US and Malaysia with his Malaysian wife, Bea, a producer for his project.
