The 2024 Women's Prize for Non-Fiction went to bestselling writer, activist and filmmaker, Naomi Klein for Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World. The win – along with the winner of the inaugural Women's Prize for Fiction – was announced on 13 June 2024 at a ceremony central London that was hosted by novelist, playwright and Women's Prizes Founder Director Kate Mosse.

The book is about how Klein was often mistaken for Naomi Wolf, a former feminist writer turned conspiracy theorist, and details the former's exploration into the alternate reality inhabited by Wolf, her doppelganger, and the forces that shape it.

"This brilliant and layered analysis demonstrates humour, insight and expertise," said Professor Suzannah Lipscomb, who chaired the judging panel, about the book. "Doppelganger is a courageous, humane and optimistic call-to-arms that moves us beyond black and white, beyond Right and Left, inviting us instead to embrace the spaces in between."

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Klein is known for her environmentalism and criticism of corporate globalisation, fascism and capitalism. She has written several books but is perhaps best known for The Shock Doctrine, which looks into the history of neoliberal economics.

This award, the sister prize of the Women's Prize for Fiction, was announced in February 2023. Each year, all women writers who write in English and are published in the United Kingdom have a shot at the prize. The winner gets £30,000 and a sculpture called the "Charlotte".
