So glad I reread this! I loved it even more this time and it just reaffirmed that this is my favorite series

World of sovereign politics, war, and fantasy, and his unforgettable cast of characters and dragons. Of course I watched the TV show first and I thought it might be a good read. But it kind of a read like TV series too. The book is full of conversations. I wonder if it would give enough visuals if I hadn't watched the TV show first.

Tremendous book. Easy read. Although it has a lot of parallels to the Lord of the Rings books, Game of Thrones dives more in depth with the characters personal development and interpersonal relationships. If you haven't been a fan of fanatastical realms and dragons, this book may change your mind. The book feels like a medieval historical fiction most of the time.

The characters in this series are just so… amazing. I love how well they are fleshed out, how pure their emotions come through the page until you're feeling it with them. Enjoyed this book immensely and found it easy to read, although all the different houses and characters are sometimes difficult to keep up with. Much more detailed than the series, but also enhanced by it to a certain extent.
