COMPREHENSION P2

This series of Comprehension books is specially written based on the latest MOE's Primary English Language syllabus. It is designed to enhance pupils' competence in comprehension by giving them ample practice in tackling the questions found in the different formats of the Comprehension component. 

It also aims to help pupils who are less profi cient in comprehension by providing them with exposure to a variety of text passages and guidance on how to answer the various types of questions. 

This book comprises the following features: 
- Thematic Approach in the assembly of comprehension passages helps to create a greater awareness of context in the pupil and to build up a specialised vocabulary word bank. 
- Intensive Practices with carefully crafted questions sharpen skills in comprehension and analysis of written texts. 
- Helping Statements provided above key question words guide the pupil to derive the correct answer to the question. Pupils will learn to identify key question words and understand their meanings. 
- Vocabulary Extension Section with word games makes learning of new words fun and interesting, thereby reinforcing the pupil's impression of the words and their meanings.

Being able to read the written text fl uently does not directly translate into understanding, thus it is crucial that pupils are trained to make sense of a text and get the most out of it. This series of books serves to hone the skill of purposeful reading, with the belief that the ultimate goal of reading is comprehension.
