This book explores the topic of widening access to post-secondary education on the global level. It considers the groups of people in society who are currently under-represented because of, for example, their gender, nationality, ethnic or family background, disability, location, or educational disadvantage. The book presents as chapters a selection of papers from the ‘Global Access to Post-Secondary Education’ World Conference, held at Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, October 2015.The chapters in the book demonstrate the diversity of the access field. They present a range of approaches to increasing access, with initiatives from ten different countries implemented with varying groups of people. Diversity is also represented by the chapter authors, who, because of their differing roles, take particular perspectives on the topic of access.
