The complete Dog Man series has been very much enjoyed Many times I could hear him giggling as he read.
This is also the first set of books that my nine year old (extremely reluctant reader due to learning difficulties) son has willing picked up independently and read to himself.

Adventured & Filled with Fun~

This sequel has the same silly humor but the plot is slightly better than the first. An evil fish, a flat cat, and reanimated dinosaur bones highlight this Dog Man adventure. It was a good book because it was super funny and was fun-filled, funny go-round.
