The book did two things for me. It made me realize I didn't have to be a perfect person first to love myself, and it made me start loving myself from the first 15 minutes. There is something fundamentally different about his approach which is easy to start, makes actual physical sense and can change the way you feel and view the world. Read it, and pass it along. This is one book everyone of us knows a friend who could use a quick shot in the arm to put them back on the right life track.
This book is a fantastic place to start or return to when you are on the path of healing or recovery. The author is direct and to the point. He openly shares his story and writes in a way that makes this very understandable. It's a quick read so not too daunting for those who shy away from reading or the healing journey itself. He provides a very basic but critical approach to change the way we are speaking to ourselves and managing our inner environment. There are ways you can modify his suggestions, like choosing a different sentence/affirmation to the one he has chosen. It's very applicable to anyone who reads to the point.
