Bookish high school student Rintaro Natsuki is about to close the secondhand bookshop he inherited from his beloved grandfather. Then, a talking cat named Tiger appears with an unusual request. The cat needs Rintaro's help to save books that have been imprisoned, destroyed and unloved.

Their mission sends this odd couple on an amazing journey, where they enter different labyrinths to set books free. Through their travels, Tiger and Rintaro meet a man who locks up his books, an unwitting book torturer who cuts the pages of books into snippets to help people speed read, and a publisher who only wants to sell books like disposable products. Then, finally, there is a mission that Rintaro must complete alone . . .

An enthralling tale of books, first love, fantasy, and an unusual friendship with a talking cat, The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa, translated by Louise Heal Kawai, is a story for those for whom books are so much more than words on paper.

Finish in a week.

This book is greatly suitable for children age 7 and above. The story is so exciting and interesting that my child read it as soon as she grabbed hold of it and finish it in less than a week.

MAGICAL, CUTE AND DELIGHTFUL

Ahh...I loved this book too too much. It was about a teenagers who lost a grandfather and have to take care of his late grandfather's book store. But he decided to sell it or no longer want to take care of it. So one day, a talking cat come to him and ask his help to save the books... With confusion, he follow the cat and his adventures begin.... His adventure were fun, meaningful and soo relatable to me.. But can he save the books ? what kind of books he need to be saved? I highly recommend this book to those who looking for a light reading but somehow, has in-depth meaning about life overall.

LOVELY AND WHOLESOME READ!

Oh this book is ADVENTURE and hits you in the FEELS. It's Fantasy genre, so there's no need to overthink it. It features the MC Rintaro Natsuki of Natsuki Books, an old second-hand bookshop, journeying into a series of labyrinths with a talking cat (who doesn't love a sassy tabby), to save books. It's pure fun and full of emotions, and I really enjoyed it.
