The Power of Your Leadership: Making a Difference with Others byJohn C. Maxwell. The purpose of this book is for leaders to realize how important it is to help others and understanding the impact of even just one person.
I found several powerful quotes that made me think. A couple I found impactful were:
‘Significance comes from using what yo have to benefit others.”
“A passive life does not become a meaningful life. You cannot make a difference if you stand on the sidelines.”
He shares three stages: survival, success and significance. We need to experience success before we can move to significance.
Can you change your thinking from what am I going to receive to what am I going to give?
An eye opening chapter for me was when he shared that the Lord’s Prayer isn’t about me; it’s about us.
A wonderful challenge I picked up from the book was to make a list of the people that have added value to my life.
The end of each chapter shares some practical application.
